Holy The Holy Sounds Foundation Inaugurates
International Concert Series "Together In Harmony"

Algerian singer KHALED, "the king of Rai music," has used his great fame in Europe and the Middle East to sing of love and joy, and against intolerance and violence. His infectious pop style has evolved through 17 best-selling albums, blending multicultural influences ranging from funk to flamenco, reggae, calypso, rap and of course Middle Eastern. At the Seville concert, he and his 9-piece band gave a rousing performance of some of his greatest hits, including his top hit "Aisha."

The Spanish super group KETAMA have taken the traditional Andalucian Flamenco and North African musical styles, and added their own pop fusion to create a unique sound that has made them legendary in Spain. Their 13 best-selling albums contain a number of timeless hits, but none more well-known to the Seville audience than "No Estamos Locos…" ("We Are Not Crazy, We Know What We Want.") This rousing anthem was chosen as the finale of the Seville concert, as Khaled and Noa joined the 13-piece Ketama band onstage for an unprecedented and thrilling joint performance. A special highlight of the finale was the surprise performance of another Spanish superstar - pop flamenco dancer (and Academy Award winner) ANTONIO CANALES.

Holy Sounds Foundation is proud to have presented its first concert in association with the government of the Region of Andalucia, and the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation. (La Junta de Andalucia and La Fundacion Tres Culturas del Mediteraneo.)

Encouraged by the success of "Together in Harmony," the Holy Sounds Foundation looks forward to presenting more concerts in Spain in 2003, as well as in Italy, Morocco, and the United States.
