HOLY
SOUNDS FOUNDATION GAINS SUPPORT FROM
U.S. CONGRESS & WORLD ROYALTY
Seville,
Spain (April 2002)
- Having already won the endorsement of Nobel Peace Prize winners Mikhail Gorbachev and Shimon Peres, and the blessing of Pope John Paul II, among numerous other world leaders, the Holy Sounds Foundation continues to garner support in its mission to bridge cultural and religious differences among the world's Christian, Muslim and Jewish people through the shared language of music.
On
April 8-9, Foundation President Alfiya Kuanysheva met with, and
received the endorsements of four key members of Congress: Sen.
Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY), Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), Rep.
Howard Berman (D-CA) and Rep. Ray LaHood (R-IL), a four-term congressman
of Lebanese descent. All acknowledged the need for regional and
global efforts that foster understanding and peace, and praised
the Foundation's mission to support individuals, groups and organizations
that use music to encourage greater communication and cooperation
among the Jewish, Christian and Muslim cultures.
